5th World Water Forum, 2009
More than 80 members of the Gender and Water Alliance from across the globe joined up in Istanbul in March 2009, at the 5th World Water Forum, in an effort to mainstream gender equity issues in the discussions and emerging recommendations. GWA aimed to bridge specifically the gender gap in the various agendas, as “ Bridging divides for water” was the slogan of the Water Forum.

3rd World Water Forum, 2003
In March 2003, the 3rd World Water Forum took place in Kyoto, Shiga and Osaka, Japan. GWA was present at the forum in Kyoto with a stand and a session called "Gender in Court".

A Minimum Agenda on Gender Mainstreaming for Researchers, Practicioners and Gender Experts (2006)
These are the conclusions and recommendations of the programme "Effective Gender Mainstreaming in water management for sustainable livelihoods: From Guidelies to Practice", on how to facilitate gender mainstreaming in agricultural water management. The "Minimum Agenda on Gender Mainstreaming for Researchers, Practicioners and Gender Experts", lists requirements and needs for gender mainstreaming in agricultural water management for different groups of professionals active in the sector.

Successes and Failures in Gender Mainstreaming in Integrated Water Resources Management
The electronic conference series "Successes and Failures in Gender Mainstreaming in Integrated Water Resources Management" aimed to collect, share and analyse information on the successes and failures in the practice of mainstreaming gender in order to make recommendations for improving practice. The results of the e-conference series are a basis for continued discussions and promotion of Gender Mainstreaming in IWRM in the sector.
