Nazmun Naher
Nazmun qualified as a civil engineer from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and then completed her M.Sc in Water Resources Development under the South Asian Water Fellowship Programme (SAWA Fellow).
Prior to joining GWAPB she worked for WaterAid Bangladesh in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) issues, and before that with the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives for 5 years.
During her professional career, Nazmun has worked on a number of technologies for water and waste management including faecal sludge management, water safety plan, rain water harvesting, and integrated water resources management. She is well experienced with developing Gender Action Plans in the different water resources projects, and rural development programmes she has worked in. Nazmun is a keen advocate for applying an interdisciplinary approach in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of water projects; combining gender, social, and technical aspects, so as to achieve more resource efficiency, social and gender equity, and sustainable results.
