Programme Specialist - Gender and Agriculture GWAPB

Runia is a gender expert with more than 9 years of working experience in the field of gender mainstreaming in different sector development organizations.

She received her Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Gender and Development Studies from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand

Before joining GWAPB, Runia worked with FAO Country Representation Bangladesh as a National Gender Consultant, where she reviewed their performance in promoting gender equality in all their ongoing programmes and projects in Bangladesh. In an earlier position ( as Gender coordinator) with Plan Bangladesh,  She worked with the grants and program team to ensure that gender was mainstreamed in  their project proposals, and especially in the project planning, and monitoring frameworks.

Runia is particularly interested in using qualitative research, and other methodological tools to draw attention to gender aspects of programme planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of development programmes.

She lives with her brother and his family, and enjoys spending her free time with their children.
