Anamika Amani
Anamika has a Masters in Rural Development Sociology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands and more than 12 years’ experience working in research and development projects in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Prior to joining GWA she worked as a research officer for a global urban food security programme in the International Potato Centre (CIP) in Peru, and as an adviser for a Dutch NGO working with fisher and tribal women and men in India. Her field experiences motivated her to work more directly to address gender inequality, and led to her joining Gender and Water Alliance as a member in 2008 to learn about gender aspects of water use, planning, policy, and IWRM. Over the years she has been in close contact with GWA, participating in their capacity building opportunities and contributing to GWA training resources and publications as writer and editor. More recently she has been actively involved in the Gender and Water Programme Bangladesh (GWAPB) as gender and capacity building Advisor. Since 2016 she is working as GWA Senior Programme Officer.
