Eastern Africa Regional ToT Workshop: Gender Mainstreaming in IWRM
A total of 39 professionals from water and environment ministries and institutes as well as NGOs in Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Kenya participated in the training of trainers workshop, which was organised by the Gender and Water Alliance in close coordination with the Institute of Environment and Water in Nairobi. The training took place from 30 March till 5 April 2009 at the Yaya Center, Nairobi, Kenya.
The illustrated report (which you can download here) summarizes all presentations and ensuing discussions day by day and it documents participants’experiences on gender mainstreaming in IWRM and water policies from the Eastern African Region, with e.g. interesting examples from Kenya’s flower industry and the field visit report on the work of the Kimande trust in Nairobi’s Kibera slum.
