Women in Europe for a Common Future

WECF logoWomen in Europe for a Common Future has worked together with GWA in many different occasions. Together a factsheet was developed “Making Sustainable Sanitation Work for Women and Men” which was launched at the World Water Week in Stockholm in 2009. (here available on this website)

In the SuSanA (click here for more information), WECF and GWA cooperate in the same working group to ensure that gender considerations are part of sustainable sanitation design.

In the Rio+20 Conference WECF was part of the Secretariat of the Women’s Major Group, and invited GWA as one of the NGOs to participate in the conference (see more information here). Together WECF and GWA also signed the "Gender and Sustainable Development Rio+20 Commitments" which were also signed by the "Network of Women Ministers and leaders for the environment" as well as by UNEP, IUCN, GWP, UNDP, WEDO and GGCA.

In 2014 WECF, GWA and the Global Forest Coalition (GFC) have joined their forces in the Gender and Sustainable Development Alliance. For more information click here
